                                    Sunday Services

Volume 15, Issue 1
January 2008

This year, worship and children's religious education is centered in the Old Testament or Hebrew Scriptures.
How do these stories contribute to our culture -- UU and secular -- and help us live lives of faith?

January Services  (10 a.m. at Northfield Elementary School unless otherwise noted):

January 6:  Security Perimeters: Where is our Center? Reverend LaMar. There is an intense conversation taking place among congregations in the Unitarian Universalist Association about where General Assembly is being held this year, and the implications for a religious community. I will share my reflections on this fascinating and challenging situation.

January 13:  Channing is the Church That...Long-Range Planning Team. This service will be another working session, with the congregation serving as "committee of the whole" as we move forward and get more specific about the future. Don't miss it...your involvement is crucial!

January 20:  King's Justice...A reflection on social justice in honor of Martin Luther King Day. Reverend LaMar.

January 27:  Anniversary Worship Service. Ms. Paula Cole-Jones, an active lay woman and life-long member from All Souls Church in Washington, D.C. will be our guest preacher this week, challenging us to grow forward! She is a wonderful speaker...you will not want to miss this one. Reverend LaMar will lead worship.
