The Channing Connection:
                                    Sunday Services

Volume 15, Issue 2
February 2008

This year, worship and children's religious education is centered in the Old Testament or Hebrew Scriptures.
How do these stories contribute to our culture -- UU and secular -- and help us live lives of faith?

February Services  (10 a.m. at Northfield Elementary School unless otherwise noted):

February 3:   The Kite Runner--Redeemed.

Reverend LaMar, Pam Purcell, and Pam El-Dinary will explore the spiritual issue of redemption in the powerful novel The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. If you have not yet read the book or seen the movie, you might want to do so . . . but not required!

February 10:    Eternal Love.

Reverend LaMar will reflect on love as we approach St. Valentine's Day.

February 17:   Living Our Faith (Worship Service Discussions).

Spirituality is, among other things, a process of becoming, and of learning to see how our lives reflects our beliefs, our glory, and our flaws. Lorraine Hughes and Maureen Hayes will lead the congregation another step deeper into conversation about what this church, working in community together, might "become."

February 24: Garnet Lanterns.

Sally Kindred will share some of her poetry this week, connecting biblical imagery with the life of her spirit. You won't want to miss this one!
