Worship

. . . we gather here, in this sacred space, to worship in love, and it is good.
The center of this congregation’s life together is worship. Every week Reverend LaMar calls the congregation into worship with the words above, reminding us that goodness permeates creation. The worship you will experience here challenges and inspires, comforts and provokes. Meditation, prayer, stories, poetry, scripture, music and singing . . . worshipers bring their lives together weekly to touch the Holy and one another’s spirits. We open ourselves to what is sacred, affirming one another’s strength to cope with whatever life places before us.
The poet William Blake wrote that joy and woe are woven fine. So are hope and despair, love and indifference, good and evil, justice and injustice. In worship, you will be invited to go deep, finding strength in Love and Community.
Sundays After . . . After worship on most Sundays, Reverend LaMar invites the congregation to join with her to reflect on the questions, “What about you? How did the service touch your soul? What will you be reflecting on this week? Where are you struggling?” Together, we speak our truth and listen to that of others.
