Channing Votes
Motivated by people like the late John Lewis to fulfill the promise of the XV Amendment ninety-five years before that granted African Americans the right to vote, Congress passed the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Now, however, our country faces unprecedented challenges to our democracy and the exercise of our right to vote. In response, the Unitarian Universalist Association has launched UUtheVote, a denominational effort to protect “the right of all people to have a voice and a vote” in this upcoming national election.
Channing Memorial Church’s Social Justice Team offers you at this link: Voting Information ,information about voting in Maryland, general information about voting, and ways you can participate with other UU’s to ensure that our democracy will remain safe for ourselves and future generations.
