Calling all Channing-ites to register for the Sunday, October 18 Candidate Action for an Affordable Maryland!
In last Sunday’s sermon on hope, I was struck by Pastor Lora’s comments that simply taking in negative news contributes to despair and hopelessness – and, I would add, passivity. One thing that helps? Getting involved. Showing up. Taking action. Here’s an opportunity to do all of that:
PATH (People Acting Together in Howard) recently became part of the statewide MD Just Power Alliance, and this larger organization is hosting a candidate action on October 18 from 2:45–4:30 pm at the First Baptist Church of Guilford in Columbia. PATH/MJPA are asking state and local candidates to commit to work with us to make Maryland affordable, sustainable and safe for all of us. The action will focus on the top issues that emerged from last year’s listening campaigns across the state, including housing affordability, immigration and climate equity.
