Rev. Robert Renjilian has arrived at Channing!
Rev. Bob was the settled minister at the UU Congregation of York, PA for 14 years. He previously served as an interim minister in Michigan and as a minister of religious education in Texas and Virginia. A lifelong UU, Rev. Bob has been described as having a gift for saying truths in a pastoral way.
Here are several quotes from his biography:
“I have subscriptions that run from the spiritual and reflective such as “Parabola” and “Sun” to the eclectic “Utne Reader”, and I also ponder current event perspectives from “The Economist” and “The Week.” I read the “UU World.”
“At its best, worship can be both challenging and reassuring, can call us to feel the experience of life together, provide an experience of the search for truth and meaning, awaken the best in ourselves, and call us to find the resources to put our religious values into action.”
“What is most paradoxical for preachers is that the best sermons are the ones people thought they just heard, but are not at all what the preacher brought to the hymn selection and pulpit – worship allows folks to bring what is already in themselves to the space, and let that speak.”
