“William Ellery Channing and the Unitarian Controversy” with Jim Caldiero
We will explore the life and ministry of our church namesake William Ellery Channing and the theological controversy that made him one of the foremost 19th century American religious leaders and founder of American Unitarianism.
About Jim Caldiero: Born in New York City, Jim did undergraduate and graduate studies in public administration at the City University of New York and NYU. After working for Mayor John Lindsay, he joined the Social Security Administration where he served on the senior staff, directing the agency’s software testing activities. He has been active in UU social justice serving as the National Co-Chair of the UU Service Committee’s Volunteer Network. He currently serves as the lead advocate for immigration reform with the UU Legislative Ministry of Maryland. Married to his wonderful wife, Dorothy, they reside in Ellicott City.
