I hold each of you in the light as we navigate a world of increasing authoritarianism and abuse of power. Hate, fear, and violence are pervasive in our society today. We see the blatant misuse of police power creating terror in our communities. We see abusive tactics by law enforcement and ICE agents being used across the country. Tomorrow evening at 4pm, we join together in sorrow and in anger to mark the murder of Renee Nicole Good by ICE agents in Minneapolis. May she rest in power and rest in peace, and may her memories serve to bring some semblance of solace to those who loved her. We will join in prayer, deep sharing, and a candle lighting ritual. Bring with you your anger, fear, and sorrow as we join together in beloved community.
This vigil will be held in-person and virtually on January 10 at 4pm.
