Water Communion with Rev. Jane Bennett Smith

As summer unfolds, I invite you to pay attention to the places and moments that nourish your spirit. Perhaps you find renewal in a favorite vacation spot, time shared with family and friends, or a quiet walk through the woods or along the water. Wherever you experience beauty, peace, contemplation, or joy, consider collecting a small amount of water from that place.

When we gather for our annual Water Communion service on Sunday, September 13, we will join in a ritual of belonging, renewal, and shared community. Together, we will share the stories these waters carry, bless them, and pour them into a common vessel alongside water from years past. In doing so, we weave this year’s experiences together with those of members and friends who have come before us.

I look forward to sharing this beloved tradition with you.
