Courage need not be profound or extraordinary. Sometimes it means risking failure by trying anyway, allowing ourselves to be vulnerable, or questioning beliefs we have long held. Sometimes courage calls us to dissent: to speak up and share our values with those with whom we disagree. This can be uncomfortable and even frightening, yet it offers us an opportunity to live more deeply into our values. We cannot know what difference our actions will make, but each day, we can choose to act courageously in accordance with what matters most.
