If you enjoy eating chili and making a difference, then Bridges’ 10th Annual “Hotter than Thou” Chili Cook-Off is for you! For the first time, Channing will have its own entry in the event.
On Sunday, March 29th, Bridges to Housing Stability will bring together 15 local congregations in a friendly, philanthropic competition to determine who has the best chili in Howard County! We welcome all community members that are looking for a fun, family-friendly opportunity to support a worthy cause and engage with community members including county dignitaries and officials.
The festivities will begin at 12:30 PM (no entry price) and all proceeds will benefit Bridges’ housing programs. You will have the opportunity to support low-income and homeless populations by sampling the various chilis and tipping your favorites. You can also participate in our magnificent raffle and silent auction.

This free event, which supports Bridges to Housing Stability, provides an opportunity for people of different faiths who are passionate about addressing the increased demand for housing support in light of the growing population that are in need. Attendees will enjoy great food and vote for favorite chili by placing cash and checks in the congregation teams’ “Tip Jar”. At the end of the afternoon, the Golden Ladle will be awarded to the congregation that brings in the most tips. Amid the food, fun and fellowship, there will be client testimony, awards presented by our exclusive judges’ panel, acknowledgement of our community sponsors, and opportunities to support Bridges’ by purchasing raffle prizes and silent auction items.
