I invite you to join me for a time of pause and reflection.
Together, we will practice twenty minutes of silent meditation. Silent meditation is a blessed opportunity to calm the mind, settle the spirit, and cultivate a sense of mindfulness. This spiritual practice emanates beyond those ten, twenty, or thirty minutes of silent focus on the breath. It alters daily living, leading to a life of peace, intention, calm, and mindful presence.
Alongside our silent meditation, I will also offer Dharma talks. A Dharma talk is a reflection rooted in Buddhist insight, practice, and wisdom. Our first series will explore the Noble Eightfold Path—an ancient Buddhist response to the inherent suffering of human life. This path guides us in cultivating wisdom, ethical conduct, and mental discipline. Our learning will be grounded in the teachings of the Theravāda Buddhist monk Bhikkhu Bodhi.
On the first Tuesday evening of every month, I will offer this session
from 7-7:45pm at Epiphany Lutheran Church. Please RSVP ahead of time so I know who to expect. I look forward to sharing this sacred time with you.
Warmly,
Rev. Jane
