We hope everyone can join us for a relaxing picnic at Piney Run Park in Carroll County on Sunday, September 4. Come at 10:30 or thereafter as you are able. We had originally planned to have a worship service, but have opted instead to just organize a nice get-together, hoping that our two congregations can share some time together in-person.
We have rented Pavilion #5 which is ADA accessible and located relatively near the Piney Run Nature Center, as well as a restroom.
Cost to enter the park is per vehicle, and is as follows: If the driver of the vehicle is 62 or older, admission is free. If younger than 62, admission for Carroll County residents is $6 for the vehicle, and residents of other counties is $12 for the vehicle.
The park opens at 7:00 a.m., and we have access to the pavilion all day (until sunset). I will plan to arrive around 10:30 a.m. to set up tablecloths, etc.
The Nature Center is open 12-5 and is included in admission to the park.
There are boat rentals and other concessions available, which are pay as you go.
There are also numerous hiking trails at the park.
Food – bring whatever you wish. If you feel comfortable bringing a dish to share, that is great – if so, please do bring some way of serving it that does not involve touching the food with hands. If you feel safer bringing your own food, that is also great. We will provide tablecloths and paper products, but you are certainly welcome to bring your own reusable plates and utensils to take home and wash. Do bring something to drink – it may be hot that day.
We will also bring some activities, such as some crafts, cornhole, etc. If you own a particular yard game or other activity that you would like to share, please feel free to bring them.
